ALL THY MIGHT

I’ve made many mistakes and have several regrets about outcomes that weren’t entirely within my control. Nevertheless, it’s imperative to remind oneself that no amount of bitterness or guilt should ever deter you from doing your best at every task in front of you. However, to truly do your best, you have to:

Forgive yourself.

Forgive yourself for the things you were ignorant of in the past. Forgive yourself for the time you believe you wasted. Forgive yourself for the things you left unsaid. Forgive yourself for the words you wish you could take back. Forgive yourself for the arrogance and incompetence that caused you to make poor decisions. Forgive yourself for not thoroughly cherishing the people who are now gone. Forgive yourself for foolishly fearing shame and embarrassment. Forgive yourself for not being strong enough. 

Genuinely forgive yourself.

The peace we receive when we forgive others is a marvelous feeling, don’t get me wrong, but to forgive oneself is truly liberating. The only time I am ever in my own way is when I have not forgiven and accepted myself on some level.

The Blood of Jesus has removed all shame! Most of our lives, we go throughout life with the fear of being ashamed, and through this lens, many people are led to do, speak, and think in inauthentic ways. The shame that we deal with was already dealt with by Jesus. Therefore, if GOD deems you worthy of forgiveness, why can’t you seem to forgive yourself??

Shame and regret are useless emotions that only keep us focused on the past. All we can do now is to do our best. We’re only human after all, we can only do our part, and GOD can only do His. I literally cannot do his part, and he absolutely refuses to do my part. So the only conclusion is to just do your best.

Obstacles run from those who do their best. So regardless of the situation and its outcome or perceived significance;

Do. Your. Best.

In whatever your hands find to do.
